You are part of a story
We are collecting anonymous handwritten stories from people in our community, honest reflections, memories, and moments that capture real life. Each letter can include doodles, sketches, or simple words straight from the heart. Spelling and structure do not matter; your voice does.
These letters will remain completely anonymous, allowing you to write freely and openly. Together, they will form a collective portrait of Ada and the surrounding areas, a reflection of our shared humanity and the experiences of people from all walks of life, connected through stories that speak without names.
The vision ahead
Our goal is to collect a minimum of 100 anonymous, handwritten stories from people across Ada and the surrounding areas—each one a unique reflection of real life, memory, and emotion. Together, these letters will form one larger story of our community.
Once collected, the letters will be compiled into a digital eBook that can be downloaded for a small donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Ada Public Library to support literacy, reading programs, and creative initiatives.
Depending on the number of letters received, we hope to create a printed, bound edition as a tangible keepsake—something the community can hold, share, and treasure as a testament to the voices that make Ada what it is.
How it changes us
We anticipate that these letters will help community members see one another with more compassion and understanding. When we read someone’s real words, we are reminded that we all share the same hopes, fears, and joys. This project will encourage connection, empathy, and reflection, helping us feel more united as neighbors, friends, and humans.
By raising awareness for the Ada Public Library, this project also highlights the vital role the library plays in nurturing readers, writers, and lifelong learners. Through these shared stories, we hope to inspire continued community support for the programs and spaces that keep curiosity and creativity alive.
